When designing lip balm labels, it’s important to meet labeling requirements. Here’s a list of what should be included:

  • Brand Name and Logo: Display your brand name and logo prominently for brand recognition.
  • Net Weight/Volume: Include the net weight or volume, typically in both ounces (oz) and grams (g), for example, “Net Wt. 0.15 oz (4.25 g).”

  • Drug Facts Panel (if applicable): If your lip balm contains active ingredients such as SPF, include a Drug Facts panel as required by the FDA, outlining the active ingredients, their purpose, uses, warnings, and directions for use.
  • Warnings or Cautions: Include any necessary safety warnings, such as “For external use only,” or “Keep out of reach of children.”
  • Directions for Use: Provide clear instructions on how to use the lip balm.
  • Manufacturer Information: Include the name and contact information of the manufacturer or distributor, including the company name, address, and website.
  • Batch Number and Expiration Date: Ensure traceability with a batch number and indicate the product’s shelf life with an expiration date.
  • Product Claims: Highlight any specific claims, such as “organic,” “natural,” or “SPF 15.”
  • Barcodes or QR Codes: Include a UPC barcode for retail scanning and a QR code if you wish to link to additional online information.
  • Certifications and Logos: Display any relevant certifications, like USDA Organic or cruelty-free logos, to add credibility.
  • Country of Origin: State where the product was made, such as “Made in USA.”

Before printing your custom lip balm labels, we will provide a digital proof via email for your approval. This allows you to review your label, confirming details like positioning, color accuracy, text legibility, and more, prior to full production. Our printers are capable of matching up to 97% of the full color spectrum, allowing us to achieve precise color reproduction for your beer labels. We use advanced CMYK printing to produce an extensive gamut of colors. For designs requiring an expanded range, we also print using WOVG ink sets which add white, orange, violet and green.

Our top-of-the-line color management program and processes ensure we hit the correct hues, tints and shades. We color calibrate and profile all of our presses so your unique color palettes and gradations print true to your vision.
