Essential Oil Labels

They can if the label is paper or the print is unprotected. A drip down a dropper or roller bottle smears bare ink and can work under the edge of a general-purpose adhesive. Our standard pick is BOPP film with a protective laminate over the print. Plastic bottles need one extra check. Some oils can seep through PET plastic and attack the adhesive from behind, so tell us if you’re filling PET and we’ll choose a material made for it.

Yes. There’s no minimum, so a handful of labels per oil is fine, and your whole line can go on one order. Small runs make sense when you’re testing a new blend or selling 5 ml bottles where 20 labels might last a season.

Yes. One design with the oil name, botanical name, or batch number changing from label to label is one of the most common essential oil orders we see. Every version runs in the same order with no new plates, since we print digitally. Send us the list of names along with your design, and we’ll set it up. You’ll see a proof before anything prints, so check each name and spelling there.

Very small. We print labels as small as 1/4 inch on each side, so 5 ml rollers and 10 ml dropper bottles are no problem. On a label that small, your text runs out of room before the label does. If the oil name, directions, and warnings won’t fit at a size people can read, split them into a front and back label, or move the longer directions to the box or an insert. Send us your bottle size, and we’ll recommend a label size before your artwork is final.

Yes, and we’d encourage it. Request our free sample pack, stick a few materials onto your actual bottles, and put a drop of your strongest oil on each one. Leave them a few days and handle them the way your customers will. You’ll see which material and finish hold up before you print a full run.

• Rollerball Bottles: For on-the-go applications, we provide durable labels for rollerball bottles, often used for essential oil blends.
• Aluminum Bottles: We create sleek and durable cosmetic labels for aluminum bottles, which are ideal for larger essential oil containers.
• Plastic Bottles: We also print labels for PET or HDPE plastic containers used for bulk or cleaning oil products.
• Bottle Cap Stickers and Lid Stickers: In addition to standard labels, we can create custom bottle cap stickers and lid stickers to complete your packaging.

We don’t design labels in house, but we can point you to people who do. Our directory of Blue Label Approved designers lists designers who know how labels print, and our gallery of past label designs is there for ideas. If your design started in Canva or an AI image tool, a designer can rebuild it into a print-ready file. We check every file against our artwork checklist before printing and let you know if anything needs fixing.

Yes. Before we print your essential oil labels, we email you a digital proof to approve. Check it for spelling, positioning, size, and every required detail, since what you approve is what we print. A screen can’t show exactly how a color or material will look in hand, so if that matters for your launch, you can order a printed proof for an extra fee:

• Press proof: your design printed on the material you picked, with the laminate or varnish. It isn’t die cut and won’t include foil, embossing, or other embellishments, but the die line is printed on it so you can trim it to size.
• Sample print: a small production run on your material and finish, die cut and with every embellishment. Because it’s finished like the real thing, it needs the same tooling as your full order.
