Custom Whiskey Labels
You spent years getting the whiskey right. The label is the first thing a buyer sees on the shelf, and it has to match the quality in the bottle. We print custom whiskey labels for distilleries of every size, from a first small-batch release to a national lineup.
Whiskey labels have their own demands. They call for finishes like foil and embossing, and they need to hold up to humidity, handling, and the occasional ice bucket without fading or peeling. We print whiskey bottle labels that look the part and last, with no minimums, so you can run each release at the quantity that makes sense.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the look you want and where the bottle will live. Textured and estate papers give whiskey the heritage, tactile feel a lot of distilleries want, and they pair well with foil and embossing. If your bottles sit in ice buckets or see heavy condensation, a waterproof film or a laminated paper holds up better than an uncoated stock. We often recommend starting with the look you’re after, then choosing a material and topcoat that protect it. Send us your bottle and storage conditions and we’ll spec the right combination.

Yes, when it’s built for it. We print on waterproof materials that resist fading, peeling, and smudging, and we can add lamination or a topcoat for bottles that see steady moisture. Film labels are fully waterproof, and coated papers stand up to condensation and handling far better than a bare uncoated stock. Either way, we match the material to the conditions your bottle will meet.

Yes, and these are some of the most popular choices for whiskey. We offer hot foil stamping, embossing and debossing, spot varnish, and high-build screen printing for raised detail. Textured and estate papers add a hand-crafted feel that suits barrel-aged and small-batch brands. These finishes hold up on both paper and film, so you can get the premium look without giving up durability.

We print whiskey bottle labels for standard 750ml and 1-liter bottles, 375ml flasks, and custom decanters. Precision die-cutting lets us fit unusual shapes, etched glass, and collector bottles, and we can produce front, back, neck, and strip labels in the same order. Tell us your container and we’ll size the artwork so nothing wraps short or overlaps.

Whiskey is a distilled spirit, so its labeling is regulated by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). In most cases you’ll need a Certificate of Label Approval (COLA) before you bottle for sale across state lines. Whiskey labels generally have to show the brand name, the class and type designation (for example, “Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey”), the alcohol content, the net contents, the name and address of the bottler, and the government health warning statement. These rules change from time to time, so it’s worth confirming the current requirements with the TTB or a labeling specialist before you print. We’ll make sure your artwork leaves room for the mandatory text.

Our preferred file formats are Adobe Illustrator or high-resolution PDF. If you’re not sure your file is print-ready, send it over and we’ll check it before we move ahead.

Yes. Before printing your whiskey labels, we’ll send a digital proof by email for your approval, so you can confirm positioning, color, and text before anything runs.

We don’t design labels in-house, but we have resources to help, including a directory of designers we’ve worked with. If you already have a design, we’ll review your files and make sure they’re set up correctly for print, from bleed and resolution to how your foil and emboss areas are marked.

Our printers can match up to 97% of the full color spectrum, and we can color match up to 98% of Pantone colors. We color calibrate and profile every press, so your brand colors stay consistent across each SKU and every reorder. That matters for whiskey, where a slightly-off amber or gold can make a premium brand look inconsistent on the shelf.

Our printers are capable of matching up to 97% of the full color spectrum, allowing us to achieve precise color reproduction for your beer labels. We use advanced CMYK printing to produce an extensive gamut of colors. For designs requiring an expanded range, we also print using WOVG ink sets which add white, orange, violet and green.
Our top-of-the-line color management program and processes ensure we hit the correct hues, tints and shades. We color calibrate and profile all of our presses so your unique color palettes and gradations print true to your vision.
