Just about any container and size. The real work is matching the material, adhesive, and print method to the product so the label performs where it lives. Common formats we work with:

• Jars (10 to 200 mL): creams, balms, and body butters, in glass or plastic.
• Bottles (30 to 200 mL): serums, lotions, cleansers, and sprays, with wraparound or front-and-back labels.
• Tubes (15 to 100 mL): gels, scrubs, and creams, on flexible material that conforms without wrinkling.
• Airless pump bottles (30 to 200 mL): sensitive serums and lotions that need protection from air.
• Dropper bottles (15 to 50 mL): facial oils and concentrates, on small-format labels that stay readable.
• Compacts and sticks (5 to 15 g): powders and solid cosmetics, on labels that fit tight curves.

If your container is outside these common types, that’s no problem. We’ll size the label to fit.

Cosmetic products live in tough spots (think bathroom humidity, oils from your hands, and frequent handling), so the label needs to look good and hold up. The materials we recommend most often:

• BOPP (a plastic film that resists water and oil): our go-to for most cosmetics, available in clear, white, or metallic. Clear BOPP gives you the sleek no-label look.
• MDO (a flexible film for curved containers): a good fit for tubes and airless pump bottles, with a clear no-label finish that won’t peel.
• Vinyl: tough and moisture-proof, worth considering for products that travel in bags or see heavy wear.
• Kraft and compostable vellum: paper options with a natural look for clean beauty brands, best for dry products or with a protective coating.
• Shrink sleeves: full 360 coverage and built-in tamper-evident options for unique container shapes.

Yes, when they’re built for it. Films like BOPP, MDO, and vinyl stand up to moisture, oils, and daily handling without smudging, fading, or peeling. Paper options can work too, but they hold up best on dry products or with a protective laminate. Tell us where the product will live and we’ll spec a material that lasts.

Cosmetic labeling in the U.S. is governed by the FDA and the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, and the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act (MoCRA), passed in 2022, added newer requirements. Rules change, so we recommend confirming current FDA guidance or working with a compliance expert before you print. In general, a compliant cosmetic label includes:

• Product identity: what the product is, on the front panel.
• Net quantity of contents: the amount, in both U.S. and metric units.
• Ingredient list: every ingredient in descending order by weight, using INCI names, plus color additives.
• Manufacturer or distributor info: the business name and address.
• Warnings or cautions: any statements the product requires.

We offer a range of finishes to match the look and feel you want:

• Matte: a smooth, non-reflective surface for a natural, understated look.
• Satin: a soft sheen between matte and gloss, common on fine fragrances and premium skincare.
• Gloss and high gloss: a shiny, reflective surface that makes colors and details stand out.

We also offer lamination, hot foil stamping, embossing, debossing, metallic finishes, and spot UV, depending on the material you choose.

We do offer a few more sustainable choices for cosmetic labels:

• Compostable vellum: our most eco-forward option, made to break down in the right conditions.
• Kraft paper: unbleached and biodegradable, with a natural, textured look.
• BOPP and MDO films: not biodegradable, but lightweight and thinner than many traditional films, so they use less material.

No. We work with brands of every size, so there’s no minimum order quantity. You can print a small first run to test a product, then reorder more as demand grows, and the labels will match run to run.

We offer shipping through several vendors like UPS, FedEx, and USPS, including Ground, Next-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day, and custom freight options.

Our preferred file formats are Adobe Illustrator or high-resolution PDF.

Yes. Before we print your cosmetic labels, we’ll send a digital proof by email so you can check positioning, color, and text legibility before full production.

While Blue Label Packaging doesn’t directly offer label design, we do have resources to help, including a directory of designers we’ve worked with and a gallery of label designs for inspiration.
