We can create cosmetics labels for just about any container and size, it’s really about picking the right materials, adhesives, and printing techniques so your label performs well in your product’s environment. Here are some of the most common containers and sizes we work with for cosmetics:
-
Jars (10 mL – 200 mL): Perfect for creams, balms, masks, and body butters. Whether you’re using glass for a premium feel or plastic for durability, we can size labels to fit everything from small sample jars to large countertop containers.
-
Bottles (30 mL – 200 mL): Common for serums, lotions, cleansers, toners, and sprays. We can produce wraparound or front-and-back labels for straight-sided or uniquely shaped bottles, with finishes that hold up to oils, moisture, and handling.
-
Tubes (~15 mL – 100 mL): Ideal for gels, scrubs, and creams that need controlled dispensing. We’ll help you choose flexible materials that conform smoothly without peeling or wrinkling.
-
Airless Pump Bottles (30 mL – 200 mL): Great for products that need protection from air exposure, like sensitive serums or luxury lotions. We can create labels that complement the sleek look of airless packaging while withstanding regular use.
-
Dropper Bottles (~15 mL – 50 mL): Often used for facial oils, treatments, and highly concentrated formulas. We can produce small-format labels with high readability, even at reduced sizes.
-
Compacts & Sticks (5 g – 15 g): For powders, balms, and solid cosmetics, we offer labels that fit tight curves and small surfaces while keeping your brand front and center.
If you have a container outside these common types, no problem, we’ll work with you to make sure your label fits perfectly.

Cosmetic products live in tough environments (think bathroom humidity, oils from your hands, and frequent handling) so your labels need to look good and hold up over time. Here are the materials we most often recommend for cosmetics packaging:
-
BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene): Our go-to for most cosmetics. It’s durable, moisture- and oil-resistant, and available in white, clear, or metallic. Clear BOPP is perfect for that sleek “no-label” look, while white or metallic BOPP gives you a vibrant look.
-
MDO (Machine Direction Oriented Film): A great choice if you’re labeling curved or squeezable containers like tubes or airless pump bottles. It’s flexible, durable, and can deliver a crystal-clear no-label look without peeling.
-
Vinyl: When you need maximum durability, like for products that will travel in bags or face a lot of wear, vinyl is tough, moisture-proof, and long-lasting.
-
Specialty Paper Options: For brands that want a natural or sustainable aesthetic, kraft paper offers an earthy, biodegradable option, and compostable vellum provides an eco-friendly alternative. These work best for dry products or with added protective coatings.
-
Shrink Sleeves: Ideal if you want full 360° design coverage or built-in tamper-evident features. They also let you decorate unique container shapes without limiting your design.
We’ll help you match the right material to your product, container, and brand style.

If you’re selling cosmetics in the U.S., your labels need to follow FDA and Fair Packaging and Labeling Act guidelines. While we recommend that you consult with the proper compliance resources, here’s what you’ll typically need to include:
-
Product Identity: Clearly state what the product is, like “Moisturizing Cream” or “Liquid Lipstick,” on the front of your package (Principal Display Panel).
-
Net Quantity of Contents: List the amount of product in both U.S. customary units (oz, fl oz, etc.) and metric units (g, mL). This goes in the bottom portion of your front panel. (Example: Net Wt. 1.7 oz (48 g))
-
Ingredient List: Show every ingredient in descending order by weight, using the proper INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) names. Ingredients at 1% or less can appear after the main list, in any order. Don’t forget to list all color additives by their FDA-approved names.
-
Manufacturer or Distributor Info: Include the business name and address. If you’re not the manufacturer, use “Manufactured for” or “Distributed by.”
-
Required Warnings or Cautions: If your product needs special handling (like aerosols, certain eye products, or products with restricted color additives), include the appropriate warning statements.
-
Country of Origin: If your product or its primary components are imported, state the country of origin.
We’ll work with you to make sure all these details are formatted, legible, and integrated into your label design.

We offer a variety of label finishes to enhance the look and feel of your custom cosmetic labels. Our available finishes include:
-
- Matte Finish: For a sophisticated and elegant look, our matte finish offers a smooth, non-reflective surface. This finish is ideal for products where a more understated, premium appearance is desired, such as high-end skincare and natural beauty products.
- Satin Finish: Offering a soft sheen that falls between matte and gloss, the satin finish provides a luxurious feel without being overly reflective. It’s perfect for products that require a touch of elegance, such as fine perfumes and premium skincare items.
- Gloss Finish: This finish provides a shiny, reflective surface that enhances colors and details, making your labels vibrant and eye-catching. It’s great for a wide range of cosmetic products, including makeup and brightly packaged items.
- High Gloss Finish: For maximum shine and a high-impact look, our high gloss finish delivers an exceptionally glossy surface that makes your labels stand out. It’s particularly effective for luxury products and items that need to capture immediate attention, like perfumes and high-end skincare.
We also offer lamination, foil stamping, embossing and debossing, metallic finishes, and different textures depending on the materials that you choose.

We offer a few eco-friendly (and eco-friendlier) options for cosmetic product labels:
-
Compostable Vellum: This is our most eco-forward option. It’s made from compostable materials that break down in the right conditions, ideal if you’re aiming for a fully biodegradable package.
-
Kraft Paper: Made from unbleached, often recycled paper, kraft is biodegradable and has a natural, textured look that pairs perfectly with clean beauty brands.
-
BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene): BOPP isn’t biodegradable, but it is lightweight, long-lasting, and recyclable in some facilities (when clean and properly separated). So while it’s not compostable, it’s more sustainable than heavier or laminated alternatives.
-
MDO (Machine Direction Oriented film): Similar to BOPP, MDO is a thinner, lightweight film that uses less material overall. It’s not biodegradable, but its efficient use of plastic makes it a better option than many traditional films.
