QR Code Labels

QR Code Labels

You already know where the QR code goes on your product. The harder part is printing it on a label that scans every time, holds up on the shelf or in the field, and still fits your brand. We print custom QR code labels for product packaging, from a single static link to fully variable-data runs where every label carries its own unique code.

A QR product label does real work. It can point a shopper to a how-to video, unlock a promotion, prove a product is genuine, or tie a single unit back to its batch for traceability. We print the label that makes that happen, on durable materials, with no minimum order, and a quote back to you in 24 hours.

Custom QR Code Label Options

Sized so the code always scans

Sized so the code always scans

A QR code needs enough size and enough clear space around it to read reliably. We print QR labels for small containers like supplement bottles and cosmetic jars all the way up to large boxes and drums. On tight packaging, we size the code and its quiet zone (the blank margin a scanner needs to lock on) so a phone camera reads it on the first try, not the third.
Materials that survive where the label lives

A code only helps if it still scans months later. We print on waterproof BOPP (a plastic film that does not absorb water), vinyl, and polyester, with water-resistant, UV-resistant, and temperature-resistant options. That matters for products that see moisture, sunlight, cold storage, or handling in a warehouse. Worth considering: a matte laminate over the code cuts glare, which helps scanners read it under bright store lighting.
Finishes that keep contrast high

Finishes that keep contrast high

QR codes read best with strong contrast between the code and its background. We can pair your brand colors and finishes, including metallic and foil accents, with a code area that stays high-contrast and scannable. If you want the code to blend into the design, we will proof it against real scanning conditions before the full run so nothing reads short.
Variable-data and serialized printing

Variable-data and serialized printing

Static QR codes send everyone to the same link. Variable-data printing prints a different code on every label, so each unit can carry a unique serial number, batch link, or one-time promo code. That is what makes traceability, authentication, and per-unit tracking possible. We handle the variable-data run and keep the codes sharp and correct across the whole order.

QR Code Label FAQs

It is a product label with a QR code printed on it, usually alongside your branding, ingredients, or barcode. Someone scans the code with a phone camera and lands on whatever you point it to, like a product page, a video, a promotion, or a page that verifies the item is genuine. We print the label and make sure the code scans cleanly. You control where the code sends people, and you can update that destination later if you use a dynamic code.

Yes. That is variable-data printing, where each label prints with its own unique code instead of all of them being identical. It is how brands run serialized codes for traceability, one-time promo codes for a contest, or per-unit warranty registration. You send us the data file with the codes or the values, and we print them in sequence across your run. If you are not sure how to build that file, we can walk you through it.

A few things matter: size, contrast, and clear space. The code needs to be large enough for the packaging, dark enough against its background, and surrounded by a quiet zone (a blank margin the scanner uses to find the code). We check these before printing and can proof the code against real scanning conditions. As a rule of thumb, we suggest keeping the printed code at least about 0.8 inches on a side for close-up phone scanning, and larger for anything read from a distance.

You create the code with a QR generator, where you enter the link or data you want the code to hold, then export it as a high-resolution vector file. Choose a dynamic code if you might change the destination later, and a static code if the link will stay fixed. Test it across a couple of phones before you finalize the artwork. Send us the vector file with your label design and we will place and print it so it stays sharp.

For most products, waterproof BOPP film with a matte or gloss laminate holds up well and keeps the code readable. Matte laminate is worth considering when glare is a concern, since it cuts reflections under bright lighting. Vinyl and polyester are options for tougher conditions like outdoor use, cold storage, or heavy handling. We will match the material to where your product lives so the code still scans down the road.

No. We have no minimum order quantity, so you can print a small test batch of QR labels or a full production run. That makes it easy to try a QR campaign on one product before rolling it out across your lineup.

Yes. With serialized, variable-data QR codes, each unit gets a unique code you can tie back to a batch, a production date, or an authentication check. Customers or your team scan the code to confirm a product is genuine or to trace it through the supply chain. We handle the serialized printing. The database or platform behind the codes is typically something you or a software partner set up, and we are happy to coordinate on the label side.

We offer shipping through several vendors like UPS, Fedex, and USPS. Ground, Next-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day, and custom freight options.

Our preferred file formats are Adobe Illustrator or high-resolution PDF. Send the QR code as a vector inside your artwork whenever possible, since vectors stay crisp at any size and keep the code easy to scan.

Before printing your QR code labels, we’ll send a digital proof by email for your approval, so you can confirm the code, the layout, and your colors before the full run.

While Blue Label Packaging does not directly offer label design services, we do have resources to help with your custom label design needs. We maintain a directory of Blue Label Approved designers who specialize in label design and understand the unique requirements and technical details involved. We also showcase a gallery of label designs for inspiration.

Our printers can match up to 97% of the full color spectrum, so your brand colors stay consistent across every SKU and every run, while the code area stays high-contrast and scannable.
