It depends on the look you want and how the jar gets handled. If you want a natural, rustic feel, a paper label with a laminate or varnish on top handles sticky drips and a damp wipe-down. If the jars get handled a lot, travel to markets, or sit in a cooler, waterproof BOPP or polyester (plastic films that do not absorb water) is the sturdier pick. We can match a paper look with a matte finish on plastic if you want both the texture and the durability.

Yes, when it is built for it. Creamed honey is often kept cold, and a cold glass jar sweats when it warms up, which can wrinkle or lift a plain paper label. A laminated paper label or a BOPP label with a permanent adhesive stands up to that moisture. Tell us if your honey is refrigerated and we will spec a material and adhesive that can take the condensation.

Honey is a food, so the FDA expects the standard food-label elements. In general that means the product name (honey), the net weight, and the name and address of whoever produces or packs it. If you add anything to the honey, like flavoring or other ingredients, those have to be listed too. A Nutrition Facts panel is required for many packaged foods, though some small producers may qualify for an exemption. These rules can change, so it is worth confirming your exact requirements with the FDA or a labeling consultant before you print. We will make sure the artwork leaves room for everything your label needs to carry.

Yes. Kraft and other natural papers give honey that handmade, farmstand feel, and they are a popular choice for the category. On their own they can stain from a drip, so we add a laminate or varnish to protect the print while keeping the paper texture. Pair that with a foil or embossed detail and you get a premium look that still survives the jar.

We print for the common honey containers and plenty of the less common ones. That includes classic glass jars, hex jars, muth jars (the tall, corked style), and plastic squeeze bottles like the honey bear. Curved and squeezable bottles need a flexible label and adhesive, and we spec for that. Send us your container and we will size the artwork to fit it exactly.
