Our labels can be made to fit any jar type, from small spice jars and standard sauce jars to large mason jars and specialty glass containers. Adhesion on Glass, Through Moisture and Refrigeration

Adhesion on Glass, Through Moisture and Refrigeration

Our jar labels are made for real-world conditions. If your product will experience moisture, oils, condensation, refrigeration, or frequent handling, we choose adhesives and materials that resist peeling, smudging, or fading. That means your labels stay readable and attached through filling, shipping, storage, and retail display.
Jar Label Materials and Finishes

You'll have your choice of materials for form and function, from waterproof polypropylene, moisture-resistant films, eco-friendly kraft paper, and coated papers. It all depends on your product and packaging environment. And you can add finishing options like foil stamping, embossing, gloss or matte lamination, and UV coating for added looks and durability.

What Makes a Jar Label Different

Most label problems on a jar come down to one of four things.

  • The curve. A jar has a tighter radius than a bottle of the same volume, and the tightest point is usually the shoulder. A label that is too tall or too wide for the panel will tent in the middle or lift at the corners. Rounded label corners help more than people expect.
  • Glass versus plastic. Glass is smooth and non-porous, which sounds ideal but means the adhesive has less to grip. Cold glass is worse again. If your jars are filled and then refrigerated, tell us, because the adhesive has to bond before the jar goes cold.
  • Moisture and refrigeration. Anything that lives in a fridge sweats when it comes out. A paper label will curl at the edges within a few cycles. Film handles it.
  • Hot-fill and retort. If the product goes into the jar hot, or the sealed jar is heat-processed afterwards, the label has to survive that temperature without the ink shifting or the adhesive flowing. This is a different material specification from everything above, so flag it early.

Send us the jar you are using, or the dimensions and the fill process, and we’ll tell you what will work before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, our custom jar labels are designed to be water resistant so that they maintain their integrity and appearance even when they come into contact with water. We achieve this by using high-quality synthetic label materials such as BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) and vinyl, which are known for their durability and resistance to moisture. We can also apply protective laminates or UV coatings to our labels, providing an extra layer of defense against water, oils, and other environmental factors.

Our water-resistant labels are perfect for products that might be exposed to condensation, spills, or humid environments. Whether you’re labeling jars for food, beverages, health and beauty products, or household items, you can trust that our labels will remain intact.

We can provide custom labels for any product that comes in a jar, covering a wide range of food, beverage, health and beauty, and home goods products. For example, we can provide labels for:

We are committed to ensuring your complete satisfaction through this streamlined proofing process.

While Blue Label Packaging does not directly offer label design services, we do have resources to help with your custom label design needs. We maintain a directory of Blue Label Approved designers who specialize in label design and understand the unique requirements and technical details involved. We also showcase a gallery of label designs for inspiration.

Our printers are capable of matching up to 97% of the full color spectrum, allowing us to achieve precise color reproduction for your beer labels. We use advanced CMYK printing to produce an extensive gamut of colors. For designs requiring an expanded range, we also print using WOVG ink sets which add white, orange, violet and green.
