Label Printing for Soaps

Soap has a hard life. It sits by the sink, rides around in a shower caddy, and gets handled with wet, sudsy hands all day. A paper label that looks great on the shelf can wrinkle, smear, or slide off once it meets water. We print custom soap labels on water-resistant materials that stay put and stay readable in exactly those conditions.

Whether you make cold-process bar soap in small batches or bottle a liquid hand soap for retail, we can match the label to your container and your run size. There are no minimums on our end, so you can print one design to test or a full product line at the quantity that makes sense for your business.

Product Options

Shapes and sizes for bars, bottles, jars, and tins

Shapes and sizes for bars, bottles, jars, and tins

Soap comes in more shapes than almost any other product, so your label needs to fit the container you actually use. We print rectangular labels for wrapped bars and boxed soap, circular and oval labels for jars and tins, and custom die-cut shapes for anything unusual. For pump bottles and squeeze bottles of liquid soap, we size the artwork to wrap cleanly without a gap or overlap. Tell us your container and we will fit the label to it.
Materials that hold up in wet, soapy environments

Materials that hold up in wet, soapy environments

This is where soap labels earn their keep. For anything that lives near water, we print on waterproof films like BOPP (a plastic film that does not absorb water), vinyl, and polyester, paired with a strong permanent adhesive and a protective laminate on top. That combination stands up to splashes, humidity, and wet hands without wrinkling or lifting at the edges. Oil-resistant options help with soaps that carry a lot of essential oils or butters that can creep under a weaker label. If your soap sells boxed and stays dry on a shelf, a kraft paper or textured stock can give a more natural, handmade look, and we will tell you honestly when paper is the better fit.
Finishes that match your brand

Finishes that match your brand

The finish sets the mood of the package. Matte lamination gives a soft, natural feel that suits handmade and botanical brands. Gloss lamination makes color and detail look brighter and more premium. We also offer UV coating for extra scuff protection, plus embossing and foil stamping when you want a raised or metallic accent. Every finish we suggest for a wet-environment soap is one that holds up to moisture, so you are not trading durability for looks.
High print quality across every design

High print quality across every design

We use digital printing for custom soap labels, which keeps colors sharp and consistent with no printing plates to buy. That makes short runs affordable and lets each scent or variety carry its own artwork in the same order. Our printers match up to 97% of the full color spectrum, so your brand colors stay consistent from the first label to the last.

Frequently Asked Questions

We print on water-resistant materials like BOPP, vinyl, and polyester, then pair them with a strong permanent adhesive and a protective laminate on top. That combination keeps the label from wrinkling, smearing, or peeling in humidity, splashes, and wet hands. For a bar that sits in the shower or a pump bottle by the sink, that durability is the whole point, so we spec the material for where your soap will actually live.

We print labels for most soap formats, including:

  • Cold-process and hot-process bar soap, wrapped or boxed
  • Melt-and-pour and glycerin bars in shrink wrap or sleeves
  • Liquid hand soap and body wash in pump or squeeze bottles
  • Soap in jars and tins, including whipped and cream soaps

Tell us your container and how the soap is used, and we will match the label material and shape to it.

For liquid soap in a bottle that sits near water, a waterproof film like BOPP or polyester with a laminate is usually the safe choice. For bar soap, it depends on how the bar is sold. A boxed or paper-wrapped bar that stays dry can carry a kraft or paper label for a natural look. A naked bar that goes straight into a shower does better on a waterproof film. We are happy to talk through your specific setup and suggest what fits.

This is worth checking before you print, because it depends on how your product is classified. In the United States, a “true soap” (made mainly from an alkali and fats or oils, and marketed only for cleaning) is generally overseen by the Consumer Product Safety Commission rather than the FDA. But if your soap is marketed with cosmetic claims like moisturizing, softening, or deodorizing, the FDA generally treats it as a cosmetic, which comes with ingredient-labeling requirements. If it makes a drug claim, such as antibacterial or acne treatment, different rules apply again. Because the category is nuanced, we recommend confirming your labeling requirements with current FDA guidance or a labeling consultant before you finalize your artwork. We will make sure the label leaves room for whatever ingredient list or claims you need.

No. We have no minimum order quantity, which is why a lot of small-batch and startup soap makers work with us. You can print a single design to test a new scent or run a full product line, and pay for the exact quantity you order rather than a forced minimum.

Yes. Because we print digitally, there are no plates to buy per design, so each scent or variety can carry its own artwork and colors in the same run without the cost stacking up. That makes launching a full line, or adding a seasonal scent later, straightforward.

Yes. Matte lamination suits natural and handmade brands, gloss makes color look brighter, and both add moisture protection. We also offer UV coating, embossing, and foil stamping for a raised or metallic accent. For soaps that live in wet spots, we will steer you toward finishes that hold up to moisture so the look lasts as long as the durability.

Our printers can match up to 97% of the full color spectrum, so your brand colors stay consistent across every scent and every reorder.

We offer shipping through several vendors like UPS, FedEx, and USPS, including Ground, Next-Day, 2-Day, 3-Day, and custom freight options. We print from our Lancaster, Ohio facility and ship nationwide.

Our preferred file formats are Adobe Illustrator or high-resolution PDF.

Before printing your custom soap labels, we’ll send a digital proof by email for your approval. That lets you review positioning, color accuracy, and text legibility before full production.

While Blue Label Packaging doesn’t directly offer label design services, we do have resources to help, including a directory of designers we’ve worked with.
